Axis 207W Internal Wireless IP Camera

The Axis 207W Internal Wireless IP Camera is one of a new generation of security cameras. These cameras connect directly to your wireless network, allowing you to have security cameras installed in range of a network router, without wires, and without a computer or digital video recorder switched on!

The wireless IP cameras effectively have an on-board computer, which allows the camera to upload stills by email or ftp (file transfer protocol) using the wireless network. If you have internet access through the wireless router, then the camera can send the captured pictures anywhere in the world! The stills are usually captured by a motion-sensing setting, so you can instantly get images of the camera target area when motion is detected in your email inbox!
Most cameras provide a feature where you can directly log into the camera over the internet using your web browser. This gives you the opportunity to receive live images of the target camera area, which is great if you are away on business and want to keep an eye on home!

For around £200 inc VAT, you can buy a wireless IP camera like the one above. Unfortunately, the model displayed above is completely static, so you cannot remotely control the camera to look around a room. For a bit extra (£300 to £700 inc VAT) you can buy a model where you control the camera with tilt, pan and zoom! Having looked around the web for these cameras, I have found a website called IPCCTVCameras.co.uk that has a very large range of cameras, and free delivery too!
