TrackStick GPS Data Logger

This small little device will record its own time, date, location, speed, direction and altitude for any moving object you choose to hide it in. You can easily conceal it in a car, boat, or even luggage with some careful placement. The information that’s logged can then be downloaded to your computer using the integrated USB plug, and even integrated with Google Earth or Mapquest. This feature allows you to “playback” the location points of the TrackStick and see a visual mapped history of its travels.
It has 1 MB of internal storage space, allowing for 4000 individual logged points. The device detects when its in motion, and therefore will only start logging its position when it begins to move. You can adjust the logging time to be between 1 minute and 15 minutes to save memory space. This does not affect the battery life, as it is in constant contact with the satellites to determine when the device has started to move. There are no special software applications to buy and the raw data can be exported in RTF, XLS, HTML, or Google Earth KML formats.
The battery will last for 5 to 7 days using 2 AAA batteries, which are cheap to replace. And its only 10cm x 3cm x 2cm. The cost is between $250 and $400, but it depends on where you can buy it from. You can buy the TrackStick on ThinkGeek, or there’s a similar device called a SlimTrack at TrackerShack.
