Super Spy Ear Listening Device

This sleek little unit is basically a highly sensitive directional microphone. If you imagine the typical parabolic microphone as you see in the movies, then this is the bit without the dish. The microphone contains a sensitive electret microphone with a 50dB gain built-in amplifier. The device is powered from just a single AAA battery, so expect a good battery life with this really lightweight device! To listen, you have a pair of earphones, which stops everyone else from hearing what you do.

The manufacturers claim that you can use it for listening to bird sounds, frogs at night, or for lectures at University or College. Now, really, who would actually use it for that purpose? I’m sure there’s a high percentage of you who would agree that it would be tempting to listen to conversations with it… actually doing it is another matter altogether!

With a simple search on eBay, you can find a very but still effective variation of this gadget called Spy Ears. Spy Ears are effectively a toy, but they are still very good at amplifying distant sounds.
