GPS Device Hidden in Shoe
The GTXC Corporation have designed some shoes with a small and robust built-in GPS tracking device interfaced with GTXC’s portal system. The system allows administrator to set boundaries for the GPS devices, and set up alerts if the wearer of the device wanders outside or inside of a designated area. The shoes will last for 4 days, and include enhanced indoor GPS satellite reception too.
The actual device is only the size of a matchbox, yet it includes a GPS receiver, mobile phone technology, motion detector, battery charger and internal rechargeable battery. Since the data is transmitted to a central system, you can access the mapping system from anywhere in the world. I haven’t manage to find any pricing, but I expect the cost would be around $1000 plus subscription costs.
The sorts of uses include military troop tracking, elderly care, law enforcement, personal exercise monitoring, and even uses in sports training. It’s a very cool device, but a full remote GPS tracker the size of a matchbox? Terrifying!
