GSM technology is being used in a number of ways for surveillance purposes these days, such as audio listening devices, mobile phone tracking, and spy cameras via GPRS or MMS technologies. This is primarily due to the very low cost of mobile phones and pervasive cell phone networks around us. As a result, the threat of espionage with GSM technology is now very high. (more…)
I thought I’d do an extra post today to let you know about some of the things going on in the news relating to spies at the moment.
A private detective agency called Active Investigation Services are facing charges for a number of illegal surveillance activities, such as bugging telephone lines and breaking into personal computers. They got caught by British Telecom (BT) using a surveillance camera hidden in their junction boxes, which I think is fantastic! They strictly weren’t breaking into computers either, they were installing backdoors. However, it’s an interesting case. (more…)
Another place for great gadgets is Coolest-Gadgets.com. They cover all kinds of gadgets, such as clocks, robots, photography, home gadgets, garden gadgets, and so many more. They write about the newest gadgets on the scene daily.
I visit them on occasion for their interesting spy gadget category. The gadgets are more “boys toys” orientated, but still really interesting. So if you want more of a spy gadget fix, I strongly recommend a visit to Coolest Gadgets!

Inside this specially bugged PS/2 mouse is hidden a tiny UHF transmitter capable of picking up sounds within a 5 metre radius. The mouse is plugged into the computer, and so the bug is powered by the computer too. However, as usual, Spy Catcher is very very expensive, and they are charging nearly £600 for this little gadget. The Wireless Covert Earpiece has been on my wishlist for a very long time. The earpiece allows you to listen to a radio device such as a radio transceiver or radio scanner where there are no visible wires from the radio device to your ears. This earpiece device is commonly used by government security agencies and surveillance teams in police forces. (more…)
