Wireless Cigarette Pack Hidden Color Camera

You’re starting to get the idea now that a camera is best hidden in a device that will not be suspected by the target. Hiding a camera in a pack of cigarettes gives you a high degree of portability without drawing any suspicion.

The camera is wireless and conceals a PP3 9 volt battery inside a plastic box within the cardboard box. A nice big internal switch makes this a very neat piece of kit, and completely contained within the old cigarette box. To use the device, just open the box and click the switch. Then tune in a wireless receiver, connect it to a recorder, and you’re off!

The camera inside the cardboard box is a black plastic box just slightly smaller than a cigarette box. The shape of the box gives a very flat surface flush with the camera. This flush surface is particularly useful for gluing inside other flat objects. I have seen this particular wireless camera re-concealed within document folders and lever-arch files, and I can imagine that it would be suited to VHS video cases and DVD box sets too.

A bit pricey at nearly $200, but you could probably find one a bit cheaper on eBay directly from China.

This are fun - just the batteries don’t last long enough (2-3 hours tops).

  2. Dan Says:

Rechargable batteries help! Maplin sell 9V PP3 battery chargers with a battery for around £10 on occasion.

  3. mrbill Says:

Yeah, I use rechargables everywhere - but the problem is changing them! :-) If it were a 24 hour battery - OK, but 2 hours? PITA!

  4. Dan Says:

That’s very true… but the current consumption of a wireless camera is very high, hence the short battery life.
