It’s nice to see spy cameras being used for more practical crime prevention, such as using catching fly tippers. The cameras form part of an advanced surveillance system that allows Weymouth and Portland Borough Council to remotely monitor illegal waste dumpers.
It’s not clear what system they are using to transmit the images back to the control system, but it could be as simple as using a wireless network. If the areas are particularly rural, then some clever use of directional aerials are likely to be involved.
You just need to Google for “bullet camera” and look for waterproof models. This is likely to be what camera they are using for their installations, since bullet cameras are robust and fairly cheap.
