Personal Homing Device - Find your stuff!
The Loc8tor Plus Personal Homing Device is cool little gadget that allows you to put small tracking tags on your stuff, and find it from over 180 metres away! The Loc8tor gives visual and audio cues that point you in the direction of the item that you are trying to find.
The personal homing device uses a clever variation of radio frequency transmitters and signal strength detection to provide an affordable homing kit. The homing tags are only 30.5mm x 19.5mm x 8.5mm in size (about the size of a large stamp) and can be attached to virtually anything you like.
There’s another cool feature to the homing device kit, the alert mode. The Loc8tor Plus Personal Homing Device can be set up with an invisible boundary (sometimes called a geofence) set around the Loc8tor at 3 levels of distance (near, medium or far). If any of the preset tags go out of the set distance, then the device will vibrate, issue an audio alarm and show a message on the display indicating which tag has moved. Even more, the range can be set independently for each tag.
The slightly cheaper Loc8tor device only has the location mode, and does not have the alert mode if something moves out of range. However, both units support up to 24 tags and each come with 2 tags in the kit. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen anything like this, and its good to see a revamped version of the technology.
