GSM and GPS Based Personal Tracker and Alarm
This GSM and GPS-based personal tracker is a refreshing variation of the GSM trackers available on the market. The gadget is a simplified version of a mobile phone, with a panic mode and a GPS tracking device built into it.
If you call the tracker or send the tracker an SMS message, it will respond with a text message containing the device’s GPS coordinates. You can input these coordinates into a tool such as Google Earth to find the exact location of the tracker. The personal tracker needs a sim card, but you can use a Pay-As-You-Go sim card with just a few pounds credit to do the job. This means you have no monthly subscription costs!
A great feature is the alarm function. This function makes it particularly suited for vulnerable individuals (or those prone to getting lost!). When the alarm button is pressed, it sends text messages with the device’s location to up to 3 different mobile phone numbers. Then the receiver of the message can contact or locate the individual if needed. You can input the coordinates directly into most GPS navigation devices, so finding the tracker is really easy.
Just imagine being able to find a confused elderly family member, or that male partner who won’t ask for directions! Trackers are dropping in price very quickly, which might mean we have huge privacy issues to deal with in the near future.
