Super Mini Spy Camera - As used in a crime!
This tiny spy camera, which is only slightly larger than a pencil packs a high quality CCD image sensor ideal for body-worn and covert camera installations. The camera is only 12mm x 12mm (smaller than a sugar cube) and exploits a pinhole lens to make hiding the camera as simple as possible.
What amuses me about this camera, is a friend of mine at Eyetek Surveillance was recently in court due to this item. You may have heard about the massive £4m heist that happened in the UK in 2006. Eyetek was asked to hide one of these cameras inside a belt, which was purchased by Mr Hysenaj, who is accused of using the camera to gather intelligence at a security depot for the heist.
Eyetek were not aware of the actual reason the customer wanted the camera hidden in the belt, and its likely the customer would have lied anyway. But it just goes to show, there are individuals who are quite happy to use surveillance equipment for their crimes!

Must have been exciting.
The people from Eytek went to court to testify or were they also accused of cooperation?

To give evidence against the accused.

That’s what I thought.
I’ve known one case where a seller was accused as well.
He sold scanners and on his website he was promoting the use of listening in to the conversations of the police.
Bad idea.

Scanning is not really an issue in the UK now, as police use digital and GSM-based radios.
The camera would be connected to a recorder hidden in a jacket pocket.

That makes things more complicated of course.
Have a good weekend.
