Pen-sized Portable Document Scanner

I thought that document scanners the size of pens were just gadgets seen in the movies. However, it seems that you can now buy a pen scanner that can store up to 200 pages, and can scan an A4 sheet of paper in just 4 seconds!
The pen scanner has a 4 MB internal storage device and an internal rechargeable battery. You charge the document pen by connecting it to a PC via a USB cable. The supplied software allows you to use the pen with a number of well know applications, such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Powerpoint, Microsoft Excel, Notepad, Outlook Express, Photoshop, and more. The output formats are also standard, including BMP (Windows Bitmap), JPG (JPEG), PCX, DCX & TIFF. And that’s just the black and white scanning pen.
The colour document scanner pen is a bit more advanced. The colour scanner can store up to 200 monochrome images or 2 colour images. However, if you add a 1Gb SanDisk micro SD card, you can store up to 250 colour images. You can switch between any of the colour modes with the click of a button too.
The colour scanner costs nearly £300 ($600), and the black and white version costs £235 ($470). I also wonder if they suffer from the blurring issues that hand-held scanners used to have. With practice though, these would be highly effective undercover operation toys!
