Estes XB 39 EagleEye Spy Plane

The thought of having some kind of remote controlled toy that’s able to take spy photos has easily crossed the mind of many of us at least once in our lives. With digital cameras getting smaller, it was only a matter of time before one was small enough to be concealed within something that flies. And that’s where the Estes XB 39 EagleEye Radio Control Digital Camera Plane features.

Most radio controlled model aircraft are very light and are not able to lift a great deal in weight. Even the smallest digital camera weighs a few grams, mostly due to the weight of the battery. The EagleEye Spy Plane has a large wingspan of 55 inches and is 34 inches long, so its not much of a surprise that it has a small spy camera on it with it being a large model plane. The plane can take up to 26 pictures on the camera before they need to be downloaded to a computer, and you can take pictures by simply pushing a button on the radio control unit.

The review on the site says that the unit itself is quite fragile, so you’re afraid of breaking it all the time. However, that’s the same with all model aircraft if you’re not experienced with them. Maybe you want to get experience with a cheaper version before grabbing one of these spy camera versions. The idea is great though, and I love that you can control the camera using the radio control!

You can find more information at Walmart about the Estes XB 39 EagleEye Spy Plane.

That’s brilliant and a very creative place to put a hidden camera. I have seen some decent ones before, and this one is one of the most creative, next to the tree stump hidden camera! Great post!

I am very intrigued by the spy plane, and even the rocket. The whole concept is fantastic, this could be just the thing to break the boredom in the long hot summers. I have got to get me one of these.
