Green 125mW Infiniti Lasers from TechLasers.com
Ok, ok, a laser pointer pen is hardly a bit of spy gear, but when I got asked to review a 125mW green laser by TechLasers.com, I really couldn’t say no. The reason why I was so keen to review the laser is because I already have a 9mW green laser, and just the mere thought of one that was nearly 14 times more powerful was an offer I couldn’t refuse! If I could use one word to describe the 125mw Infiniti laser, it would be awesome!
Green laser pointers come in a range of power ratings, and Tech Lasers sell green lasers from 15mW to 400mW. You’ve probably heard quite a bit about lasers or perhaps seen them on eBay at a whole range of prices. Despite how cool lasers can be, they are very dangerous if mishandled. Shining even the lowest power laser into someone’s eye will cause permanent eye damage.
Any shiny surface can cause a reflection of some degree, so make sure you consider reflections when using a green laser too. And another warning, do be wary of pointing green lasers into the air, as doing so around key areas such as airports might cause you unwanted attention from law enforcement!
When buying a laser, its worth making sure that you are getting a high quality piece of kit. Lasers that have been modified to emit a higher power are potentially lethal and the laser beam is very low quality. Modified lasers are low quality because they emit more than just green light i.e. infrared light. The higher power quoted in modified lasers are based on the invisible infrared light rather than the visible green light. Therefore if you are paying for a higher power laser, you don’t actually get more green light in a modified laser. You can find out more about low quality modified lasers on this worthwhile YouTube video.
TechLasers.com do sell high quality lasers, and you can see the difference between a 125mW laser beam (shown left in the photo) and 9mW laser beam (shown on the right in the photo). The 9mW laser I had already, and so when I was playing with both lasers the difference was very clear. The higher power laser beam is very sharp and distinct and was visible even in daylight unlike the 9mW laser. However, as the photos show, the light beam is exceptionally bright at night time!
The laser pointer is great for star gazing and teaching uses, but you can also give fun demonstrations. For example, a 125mW laser can easily pop dark balloons and cut black plastic bags! I was also able to pop light coloured balloons by drawing a circle on the balloon with a black marker pen. This makes a fantastic demonstration for any classroom or even just your friends.
I had a great deal of fun playing with the green laser! I would like to thank TechLasers.com for providing me with the Infiniti laser to review. I would also like to thank Anton Piatek for taking the stunning photographs used in this review.

My friend owned a 75mW. I’d say that it is totally awesome! I would think that the 125 is Spectacular!!!???

@Kris - It wouldn’t hurt to ask.
@Rommel - I don’t think you’d see much of a difference between a 75mW and a 125mW, other than its more capable of burning through black plastic more quickly.

Amazing! I’ve had a 5mW laser pointer for a year now and I’ve been thinking of getting a stronger one I can use for my astronomy students. I’ll probably get one of those…awesome pictures btw…

A stronger laser is definitely more impressive, and compared to the 5mW, I’d definitely recommend anything over 75mW.
Anton is an excellent photographer, that’s why I asked him to do the photos for me!

This is not a spy gadget
but it has a potential to be one. Thanks anyway!
I check also that site you gave and browse their products I bet it would be better if they give you the infrared laser it fits in here as a spy gadget. My two cents!
