Tiny VGA Camera Review

Not just one tiny spy camera for you today, but two! A Korean company has produced the world’s smallest VGA camera module, measuring a tiny 5.5 mm x 5.5mm and just 2.9 mm thick. It’s rather amusing that the camera adaptor is larger than the camera itself! These are cameras used for mobile phones, but could easily be concealed within other gadgets for spy purposes. That said, the electronics and batteries would quickly swamp the tiny camera.

Fingertip Camera Review

The FingerCam spy camera measures a slightly larger 15mm x 15mm x 20 mm, but the finger cam is a full transmitting spy camera rather than just a camera module. It uses a standard 9V power supply, but has a current consumption of 200mA, which means it will drain a 9V PP3 battery in less than an hour. It’s roughly the size of a US dime or a UK 5 pence piece.

Quite surprisingly for a spy camera, it only costs $95, which is roughly the price of any good quality spy camera. It doesn’t appear to have sound as well, but I imagine that’s too much to cram into such a small device. RedFerret.net appears to have a video filmed using the FingerCam, but I couldn’t see anything on YouTube to verify the camera actually is a FingerCam.
