Sssh! The Mobile Phone Detection Unit

There are a number of places where it is undesirable to allow mobile phone use. For example, in a library, a court room, a place of religious worship, in certain offices, in theatres, you get the idea. You could block the phone signals using a phone jammer device, but phone jammers are illegal in most countries in the EU and some US states. So how do you solve the problem? This relatively inexpensive mobile phone detection device will sound an alarm if it detects a mobile phone being used.
Rather than using a broad band RF bug detector type device, the mobile phone detector detects the digital signals of a mobile phone being used or even just in standby mode. Since the majority of (phone using) individuals would ignore any sign put up on the wall, this alarm will remind phone users to switch phones off. The alarm can be set to being very subtle with a flashing LED and a few beeps, to a loud 80dB voice announcement created by you. You can also extend the alarm to use additional amplified speakers and trigger a remote alarm.
I like the fact that the mobile phone detection unit is very customisable, allowing it to be used as part of a security system rather than an independent device. Since you can use a .wav file for the audio announcement, you can have a lot of fun with the alarm too. Just think how easily you could embarrass mobile phone users!
