Speak as someone else when you don’t feel like talking

This voice changer allows a person to speak on the phone to someone by having their voice distorted to make it appear as if its someone else. It can come in handy in all sorts of situations. Can you imagine the possibilities with a device like this? Prank calls; pretending to be someone else when you don‘t have the time to talk; need to avoid someone - are some of the possibilities.
Lets face it, everyone of us have been in a situation when we just don’t feel like taking a call for one reason or another.
The best way to use a gadget like this for incoming calls is to use a phone that displays incoming calls so you can use the device right away with the knowledge of who the caller is (some of them have built in displays showing the caller number). It would be pretty embarrassing to pick the phone up and speak in your natural voice and then suddenly change. Also, you don’t want to miss important calls.
In order to make the voice sound realistic, you will need play around with it to find the voices you are happy with as it comes with several changable voice options. You don’t want to sound like the proverbial robot, which is often the case with cheaper versions. There are many voice changers available on the market, but many of them lack the realism of a genuine human voice thus rendering it rather useless.
Some of the manaufacturers promote these as security devices as well as for fun. For example, it can be used by elederly people taking on the voice of a much younger adult for safety. Voice changers are also available for use with mobile phones via hands free kits.
On a more light hearted note, the only worry is that you could get too engaged with this product and become an obsessive prank caller like Bart Simpson in The Simpsons!

They use to have it at Amazon.co.uk, but they no longer seem to stock this. They have a different version, though that particular one isn’t very good unless you just want to have a bit of fun with it.

Voice changers seem to be hard to find.
Most units are rather toys.
