Secure Passwords With This Keyring Device

Mandylion Password Manager

One of our recent reviews was a password manager of a different kind. That particular device was a biometric solution, this is a more standard fare, but not necessary any less secure.

The Mandylion password storage device hopes to make the task of remembering passwords a little less taxing.

It can come up with very secure passwords based on your desired length, alphanumeric combinations, etc, that you prescribe when you want to generate passwords. It has a USB connection (from the cradle) so existing passwords can be downloaded.

The device uses technology that has been used in the US mlitary, so we should be fairly assured that the quality of device is of a good standard in terms of its purpose, which is security.

Its uses permmanent memory to store data, so there is no need to worry that information will be lost when the battery fades. The device also comes with safety in mind because it can only be activated by the owner as it requires authentication to do so and viewed only from a limited angle reducing the risk of anyone else trying to look on when you are accessing it.

I am slightly disappointed with storage capacity. For most, it will be adequate as it has a capacity of 50 paswords, however, for those whose lives revolve around the Internet with hundreds of passwords to manage, this is a slight limitation.

The Mandylion password manager is priced at $49.99 at ThinkGeek
