Tracking and Emergency Service for the Vulnerable
We have reviewed one or two GPS trackers and tracking services before, but this one is a bit different in that it combines tracking as well as an emergency service. It works like others using GPS technology to locate a person wearing the tracker but has a comprehensive round the clock support system too.
A person can be tracked using the Buddi tracking service utilising one of three routes: online, the phone or by text. For example, when tracking online they need only to log in to the Buddi website where there is detailed map showing the location.
It differs from other similar services in that the tracker device also has an emergency button which can be used by those wearing it to get in touch with Buddi support in case of any problems, who will then take the matter forward. This would be ideal for elderly people and young children, who are the most vulnerable. Click more information on the Buddi GPS personal tracker.
I must say I am quite impressed with the design of this device. It is small and lightweight and almost has the look and feel of a pager. Its light enough for the user not to really feel anything when its worn, even around the neck if desired, or can be carried in a pocket.
The cost of maintaining membership seems to me to be quite a lot of money though. At £20 a month membership fee on top of the price of the tracker itself, there are possibly cheaper options available such as standalone trackers and personal security systems available that provide direct link to emergency services that either have significantly lower or no maintenance costs other than paying for the device itself. I would recommend this system if the price of membership price wasn’t so high.
Having said that, considering many people pay similar amounts or more every month for membership to services for entertainment purposes or something of that nature, this service may well be worth considering, especially if you are a nervous parent or have an elderly and vulnerable parent that you wish to keep an eye on, so to speak.
Its also reassuring to know that a support team is available at all times and its not simply automated like some other tracking services.
However, today, with most people, including children, carrying mobile phones, a tracking system like this may not be all that necessary. This is where the Buddi pet tracker may be more useful as pets obviously aren’t able to communicate like humans.

Buddi has a separate tracking device for pets. The pet tracker works in the same as the human tracker but costs significantly less both for the device itself and the monthly membership costs.
