A Bat Plane to Help Military with Reconnaissance

A Robot Bat Plane US Military

A model plane based on a bat called COM-BAT is being developed by University of Michigan, and funded by the US Military, could help troops in the battlefield with essential information relayed to them by radio.

The plane will be fitted with various miniature cameras, sensors and detectors to provide vital images, sounds as well as smells. The onboard cameras will probably be used to take images of enemy instillations and other vital hotspots. The plane itself will be only 6 inches long.

Are You Forgetful? Fear Not!

If you are prone to forgetting where you left things, then a new device developed in Japan might be quite handy as it promises to locate things without the need to search for them.

In essence, its an object recognition device that can identify objects within seconds when looked into through the glasses. The camera that’s attached to the goggles constantly records what is being seen. When a wearer looks at an object the device will store into its ‘memory bank’ by filming it.

What’s the significance of this? It is very unusual to find a wireless camera receiver that allows you to view all four camera channels simultaneously. Most other wireless receiver solutions only allow you to view a single camera channel at a time, and therefore the best they achieve is to just cycle through each camera channel.

Many radio controlled cars with spy functionalities such as listening devices and cameras have tended to be slightly disappointing either because of their limited capabilities or the vehicle itself is too primitive looking, probably because they mostly tended to be designed for children. Not all adults would be too keen being seen at the controls of one of those. However, this, on the other hand, is a car that looks like it was designed for the family and would not look out of place in the hands of an adult.
