Door Lock for the Security and Fashion Conscious

This rather chic looking touch sensitive door lock provides security for the style conscious. Its so fancy people may be forgiven for thinking it as anything but a lock on first impression. It resembles the design of a moblile phone or an MP3 music player. But style is not the only asset as it also integrates a strong secure passsword based lock.
It may not be a total coincidence that this lock, called Luce, is manufactured by Samsung, the South Korean tech firm that also specialises in mobile handsets, some of which have similar appearance to this lock.
It integartes a sensitive mechanism whereby a person can key in a password on the tampered glass. The lock lights up upon activation. It also comes with an emergency key in case the system malfunctions so its still possible to gain access.
It also doubles up as a fire alarm as it will sound an alarm when the temperature inside reaches 55*C at which point the door will open by itself so people can evacuate. I am not sure whether integrating a fire alram is good thing or not. What if someone tries to gain access by playing around with the fire alarm component of the lock by placing something extremely hot close to the lock; Since its sensitive to room temperature, will it be able to recognise the difference?
Its difficult to make out whether this lock is infact anymore secure than other similar password-based locks or whether it merely wins points for its design. Whatever may be the case, its undoubtedly great to look at.

This lock looks nice and it seems to function well but having the fire alarm system built in does seem that problems could occur. The fire alarm could end up being a disadvantage especially if it unlocks under higher temperatures.
