Alternative methods to opening your door or gate other than a typical key can be very useful. Utilizing an intercom system such as a Doorbell Fon can allow the individual at the intercom to dial directly to your phone line instead of an inside intercom. The Electric Lock Controller further adds to that system by enabling the phone to directly open the door or gate that you're Doorbell Fon is connected to by simply pressing the * key on your telephone. This device has plenty of potential to be used in the spy field, but wouldn't be as impromptu of a device as most tend to be.

The process needed to utilise this device to enter another house would be lengthy. The house in question would first have to have been equipped with this specific device for you to take advantage of it. The next step would require you to have a way to answer the phone that would ring when you press the intercom button.

This could be accomplished by having someone on the inside or better yet, using a cordless land line phone from the house itself. While it would be obvious if one land line phone was missing, it would be very easy to plug in an additional base unit if you had access to the house prior. But you could easily use this to allow entrance into your own home without being tied down to the intercom unit.

The device itself isn’t too costly, at $54.99, but considering you also need a doorstrike, doorstrike power supply, and a Doorbell Fon System, you may consider leaving the Electric Lock Controller in the home security pile instead.
