Injury Proof Car

Global awareness of the estimated 1.2 million deaths along with around 50 million injuries, which are caused by vehicle crashes every year, has put automakers to work to revolutionise the way in which vehicles are made. Many automakers are working on plans; however, Volvo is the only manufacturer that has put a date on their injury proof car for 2020.
Their orange sedan may not be much to look at but after the tunnel test in Sweden, the crash dummies if they were real could have walked away from the crash with minor injuries. The orange sedan drove at 35 miles per hour into an 850-ton steel encased block and crushed the front end of the car. More tests are of course planned for this injury proof car; however, Volvo is on the right road.
Along with testing the sedan, a 20-member safety team is gathering information regarding the cause of collisions and ways in which they can be prevented. All of this information will be used in building the injury proof car of the future.

We know that drivers in the front seat wear seat belts almost all the time but that doesn’t necessarily stop injury or even death, although it greatly reduces the risk. However, the idea behind this car is to pretty much take out injury from the equation. I am not sure if they can totally eliminate injury, but, as you say, props to them for coming up with such an idea. Lets hope they are succesful.
