Aerton Scout Flying Camera

What is the big deal with a flying camera? Well, for the military, law enforcement, search and rescue teams, surveying and engineering companies, it means they can observe trouble spots without putting anyone at risk.

Aeryon Labs of Waterloo, with co-founders Linder, Kroetsch, and Peasgood developed the Aeryon Scout. It may not look like much but it is a high-powered flying remote controlled camera. It has four foam rings all about 30 centimeters in diameter with a rotor inside. The way it works is by remote control. The Aeryon Scout will be able to maneuver into areas where it may not be safe for individuals or may take too long to search by humans such in the case of rescue situations.

The camera will be able to fly into all kinds of areas and survey what is going on before others step foot in the target zone. In that regard, it may contemplated for search and rescue or by crime investigation teams, etc.

The Aeryon prototype is not quite ready for the general public; however, it will be ready for testing with police forces, surveying firms, engineering firms, and security companies in a short while. The cost of this flying camera will be in the range of $30,000-to-$50,000. The only downside is that regulations will have to be reformed before the flying camera can take off full force.
