Radiation Detector Watch

There are many places where there could be radiation and you may be walking around the area and not even realise you are in danger, especially in a place where you may be exposed on a regular basis. While, now you can feel safer if you have the radiation detector wristwatch.

The wristwatch features a Geiger-Muller tube, which is a sensor that will detect gamma radiation and then convert it to Dose Equivalent Rate and Dose Equivalent. You will be able to know the radiation level and the possible absorption of the gamma radiation just by looking at your wrist.

You will have the ability to set the Dose Equivalent Rate and Dose Equivalent to sound an audible alarm when the levels are reached. Therefore, you will be safe from radiation at all times, or learn where the unsafe levels might be in order to avoid the areas.

Here is some technical information from their site. Accuracy of indication of Dose Equivalent Rate is +/-30 and the accuracy of indication of the Dose Equivalent is +-25%. The Dose Equivalent Rate indication range is 0.1 to 4000mSv/h and the Dose Equivalent indication range is 0.001 to 9999 mSv. The Dose Equivalent Rate threshold range is 0.1 to 4000mSv/h and the Dose Equivalent threshold range is 0.001 to 999mSv.

Along with protecting you from radiation, the wristwatch will also give you the time, date, and an alarm in both analogue and digital formats. The only slight downside to this is that its not really a great looking watch given that its rather expensive. Then again, I guess when you have a potenial life saver, looks are perhaps not the main consideration.

This would be an ideal gift for anyone that travels the world, is a soldier, or an explorer. The price for this wristwatch and its protection is just under £590 including VAT.
