Magic Mirror is actually a unique 30-inch LCD display with the voice of an English butler watching your home. No one will realise that the mirror is really keeping on eye on them just as a devoted servant would do for any royal member of the family.

The interface itself looks just like any old magic mirror out of storybook land as you might remember from Snow White. The character that speaks however will not tell who is the fairest in the land but will report on various things around your home that are not secure. Basil may be a bit stuffy, but you deserve at least one person in your home that does as you ask.

Basil was created to report on around 100 things around your home that might not be secure or may cause you problems. To give a few examples from the product information page, they include: “Hmmm…most curious… it seems that we have a pedestrian approaching up our driveway”, “For your information… a motor car has departed”, “It appears that a pedestrian is exiting out of our driveway”, “May I inform you that the motor car garage door has just been opened”, “Pardon me, this is merely a reminder, but the motor car garage door is still not secure”, “Will someone please greet our guests at the door!”, “Ahh yes….. it seems the Jacuzzi is now at the selected temperature”, “Pardon me, but isn’t it time to leave for practice”, and “Alarm! Alarm! The pool gate has been opened”.
