We are all use to the idea of tiny robotic spy planes being used for sinister purposes such as those used in the military to gather crucial information in combat and spying when it is felt there are dangers of getting close or extremely difficult to so more conventionally. But it seems these spy planes have sparked off an idea that has led to them being used for more humanatarian purposes

Whether on the battlefield or for remote hospitals and patients, these smart unmanned aerial vehicles can transport much needed medicines to many areas. Consider the possibilities in such cases as floods, hurricanes, tornadoes, or other natural disasters.

Many times getting aid to people that desperately need medicines is practically impossible, however, with such organizations as the Red Cross on the ground using these UAV’s (controlled by a GPS system) to receive medicines and send samples to the lab for analysis, their job will be much easier and more individuals will receive the medical treatment they need.

Utilising the technology of the spy planes to aid individuals instead of just spying does seem like a great idea and the wave of the future for many third world countries or those that live so far away from medical facilities. However, the idea of using such vehicles may not be as useful as it may sound at first because, being so small and only able to carry 500 grams, they are not really ideal for dealing with anything that may be too large in volume such as dealing with the effects of natural disasters where you may have many people critically injured; they are probably better used in isolated cases or in situations where it is difficult to access because of size of area.
