Turning Laptop Off by Text

Lenovo has taken a major step in integrating a security feature in some of their upcoming laptops that will please a lot of frequent laptop users, especially those who carry a lot of confidential information on them.
The company is integrating a security feature called Constant Secure Remote Disable which enables a user to lockdown their laptop using their mobile phone by sending a message to the sim that is integrated into the laptop. As the name suggests, it is constant and the user can log out anytime using this feature. It will work on all the mobile networks.
Another major benefit of this is that the feature can be enabled even when the computer is turned off so anyone trying to turn it back on, won’t be able to unless a security code is entered, which only the owner will know.
This device will reassure a lot of people if they end up losing their laptop because it gives them a second line of security as it will not be easy for anyone to access information instantly, however, using this feature does not mean the laptop won’t remain vulnerable as expert criminals can still devise ways to access it later. But nonetheless, this does enhance security substantially because most thefts are not carried out by expert computer hackers.
It is expected other PC makers will follow soon.
