WowWee have released a spy gadget in the form of a robot that takes the shape of a ball hence the name Spyball. This comes after a similar type of device released by them a while back, but this one is quite different in several ways compared to the previous release, however, with the main being that it can film at a full 360 degrees and can be accessed via a host of devices.

WowWee Spyball is designed to be able to take footage from any angle as it has a camera with a 360 degree functionality and can be controlled over the Internet as it is WiFi enabled.

This could mean you can use it for surveillance of your home while you are away at a far off place by using it to stream footage over the Internet.

However, I do think this is more a fun gadget than a ’spy’ one because one of the main criteria for spy type device is it needs to conform to a covert nature of such devices, which isn’t really the case here. Sure, you can take video footage in the home, but do not expect to take hidden footage for surveillance on others in a professional manner.

The advantage is you can access the device using any device with WiFi connection, meaning you can access it through such devices like a mobile phone, PDA, or anything else that connects wirelessly.

However, the design and its abilty to work the camera at 360 degrees because the ball can roll over does provide it with some pull.

We have cameras that can see in almost Pitch Black! Must see demo.

The specs and form make it seem more of a “toy” than an actual “spy” device, but that doesn’t mean it wouldn’t be fun for some to roll around the house. I just don’t think that you’re going to be doing any covert work with it.
