Securing WiFi with Paint

Here is some bizarre development taking place in Japan. How far would you go to secure your WiFi? Most of us protect our networks by encrypting them with passwords so other people cannot steal our bandwidth, and more seriously, the prospect of anyone else accessing our data via the network.
Well, researchers in Japan have come up with a way to block WiFi signals by using paint to colour a home or an office block or whatever else they may wish to protect their networks in.
The paint is not regular paint however. It is made with aluminium-iron dioxide which creates a magnetic field that blocks frequencies that a WiFi might operate on.
You may ask why would anyone want to avoid the password system? Well, apparently, this is a much cheaper option and potentially safer, too.
Well, I am sure the scientists know what they are doing, but I think people won’t switch over to this method just yet as encryption is pretty safe. But since some people do have their networks penetrated though, perhaps this paint could be doubled up with encryption to increase security that much more.
