Many high tech and security agencies use bio-metric and other sensors to enter their premises and even to use the high security computers. But this USB fingerprint security dongle can afford a decently high level of protection to a person who needs his work on a computer to be private and not accessible by anybody else.

As it uses fingerprint security, it offers access to only those people whose fingerprints are stored in the computer. And it can store up to 10 fingerprints, so more than one person can access the computer. This can be useful if you have a team working on a particular project. You can use this device to secure an entire drive or only certain files, depending on how sensitive is the work/information you want to protect from unauthorised access.

But it allows for more than just securing important files, you can even use it to completely lock your computer or even certain web sites. This means you can probably use it in a family home to block out some sites from access to children, for example. If you are a security conscious person or you are doing confidential work which you may not want others to get their hands on, then this little device can be ideal. Simple to use, it comes with the requisite software so it is easy to install as well.

One problem with fingerprint authentication is that sometimes they have been known to cause problems by not recognising a previously stored fingerprint, this can sometimes be solved by several attempts before it is finally recognised. It is probably best to use something like this in conjunction with traditional passwords to provide greater security.
