Are you someone who frets about the possibilty of being subject to audio or video surveillance when you are out and about? Well, a good way to make sure you are not under surveillance is to ensure there are no hidden cameras or listening devices in your vicinity. What you need is a detector for such devices.
Most detector bugs are designed for homes and buildings and thus are often quite chunky in build and not ideal to carry around. This is where the pen bug detector comes in handy. It can be used to detect hidden cameras, listening devices, wiretaps that are within a range of 10 feet from the pen. The fact that it looks and works as a standard pen is part of its attraction since it can be used as a detector without giving any hint.
It has limitations, however. Unlike a typical camera bug detector which can be used to swipe a significant area in terms of square metres, this only has coverage of 10 feet. This is fair enough given that is is pretty cheap and designed more for on the go and in theory you should know at all times that no bugs and cameras are within a range of at leat 10 feet, but for more powerful cameras that can record from much further distance, this won’t be quite adequate.
All in all, carrying this pen bug detector can put anyone with a nervous disposition at ease.
