On the face of it this seems like a really cool idea. There are many places where usage of mobile phones is banned or the user is asked to switch off his or her phone. In educational institutions, hospitals, doctor’s clinics, during business meetings and conferences, in cinema halls and live theater performances, a ringing cell phone can prove to be an unwanted distraction.
Now you can buy a specially made bag that blocks mobile signals and put your phone in it and any person dialling the number will get a ‘network unavailable’ or ‘busy’ signal. In effect what this means that a teacher or supervisor will supposedly hand out these bags so that the mobile phone is put inside it and the phone will not ring and prove a distraction. This means that in a way it revolves round third party control.
While the bags are nice and easy to use as well – you simply have to put the phone inside one and close it – wouldn’t it be easier just to switch off the phone or put it on vibration, so that you can later even check missed calls and call back? Apparently as the phone bag has some way of jamming the signal, it is illegal to use in most places as well, despite the rampant sale via the internet of these signal blocker bags or pouches.

Just use some aluminium (foil) it’ll have the same effect (Faraday shield)
