Spy Review

Here is an interesting new type of covert camera – one that is designed to look like a mobile phone hands free kit or a headset. The camera is a pretty standard type as far as resoultion is concerned and has a night function allowing for recording in poor lighting conditions.

Obviously the idea here is that since it would look like you are using a phone accessory that you talk into, no will suspect it of being a camera for recording video footage. Its a sound idea from that perspective, but since the camera fits into the ear bud, I assume the lens will peak out to the side and therefore only record to the side of the person wearing the camera. This can be quite restricting as it may require having to get into unusual positions to record what you intend.

So, this ear camera therefore may not be practical in all situations and there are better body-worn covert cameras out there which are more flexible. Nonetheless, this is one of the more deceiving pieces of spy gadgetry, especially given lot of people now use hands free mobile kits to chat so it would not look out of place.

Also, given that it can record in rather poor lighting, someone might want to wear it during nights for peace of mind in case of an incident that takes place so they can have recording as proof.

However, this, in my opinion, seems to too pricey at a whopping $500.
