A spy periscope is not only used by submarines or when you are underwater to see something above. In fact a spy periscope has many other uses above ground. Say you are in a crowded event and you want to see what is happening, but your view is blocked – you can use this kind of periscope to see by holding it up. It can add about 22 to 27 inches of height above your eye level.

It can even be used to see over walls to look into a neighbour’s garden or under cars or any object which otherwise presents a blind sight. It can be great for a youngster who is playing a detective or adventure game. If a person is going hunting or trekking or wild life watching, then the periscope will probably be more useful than a pair of binoculars, especially if you are in hiding.

And you will see the object right side up. The periscope uses good quality glass lenses and prisms and offers a magnification of up to 5 times. The best thing is if you are short sighted or long sighted, you will still be able to see with the periscope as long as your visions is +/- 5 diopters. The housing is made of hard plastic, so the periscope can withstand a lot of use and abuse. It comes with its own carrying case and a cloth to clean the lenses with.

This device is not necessarily to be used in a covert manner, though it can be used to that effect, but whatever it used for, it does seem a lot of fun.
