It’s no secret that spy cameras are everywhere, and this is perfectly demonstrated with covert cameras hidden in a coffee mug, household plant and a hairdryer!

The coffee mug camera has got to be the ugliest mug that I’ve ever seen! (heh, am sure there’s a good joke here!) Interestingly the mug camera uses 8xAA batteries to power the camera transmitter, giving it an impressive 12 hours of transmitting time. However, that would make for a very heavy mug! However, it would be a perfect office pen and pencil holder, allowing it to be used for office spying without attracting much attention. (more…)

The “out of sight, out of mind” saying is so true when it comes to security. If you can’t see the valuables, its less likely to tempt opportunist thieves from stealing those valuables. This is why there are so many campaigns telling you not to leave anything of value inside your car, as its relatively easy to break the window and steal something from the car seat. Something that feels more like a toy, but will captivate the attention of virtually any bloke is the Spyke Wifi Robot. Spyke is supposedly the first pre-built robot available that uses an existing WiFi connection to control it. This novel spy robot can move, watch, hear, speak, take pictures as well as record video and sound. This Motion Detecting Landline Telephone uses a built in PIR detector that will call a designated telephone if triggered. Once you’ve answered the call, you can listen to what’s going on around the phone for up to 30 seconds. After that 30 seconds, the alarm re-arms itself and will call you can if triggered again. Ok, ok, a laser pointer pen is hardly a bit of spy gear, but when I got asked to review a 125mW green laser by TechLasers.com, I really couldn’t say no. The reason why I was so keen to review the laser is because I already have a 9mW green laser, and just the mere thought of one that was nearly 14 times more powerful was an offer I couldn’t refuse!
