<img src='http://www.spyreview.co.uk/images/review/z-cellx-large.jpg'alt'A Mobile Phone Blocking Device Only Around A Driver" />

The importance of mobile phones cannot be ignored in the modern world – they keep us connected directly by voice, email and the internet. However, cell phone usage also contributes to more road accidents than ever before, whether it is a driver using a mobile phone or a person crossing a road who gets careless and preoccupied. Even though cell phone usage while driving is legally banned in many countries, people still use them.

Fred Wenz, a deliveryman working with UPS, thought that something should be done about this dangerous trend. Working with a friend, John Fischer, he came out with a device which can block signals to and from a cell phone within a 5 food radius of the driver’s seat. Try Safety First is what it is called and this owner compliance key (OCK) can also be set to be used on a second key, for example one a parent gives to a child.

This device will only block signals around the driver’s seat, other people in the car will be able to use their mobiles as usual. If a person calls the driver, the call will go directly to voice mail. The car will have to be pulled over and stopped so that the driver can check his messages – another safety feature.

Wenz and Fischer hope that the device will retail for about $10 and that they can interest auto makers to put it in their cars. Of course, they are interested in the safety aspect and Wenz himself believes that it will go a long way in saving lives and preventing injuries.

The way this product differs from other mobile phone jamming devices is that the plan is for this to be installed inside the car that will automatically block only the driver from using his/her phone while others inside the car can still use their phones. Also, the standard mobile jammers will disable all phones inside the car because of the radius is greater than the immediate area of the driver’s seat and are also illegal to use.
