<img src='http://www.spyreview.co.uk/images/review/Heinz-Baked-Beans-Can-Safe.jpg'alt'Heinz Baked Beans Can Safe" />

A can of Heinz baked beans is a common enough item to be found in most kitchens, whether it is that of a single person or a family. As such, nobody would think twice when spotting it anywhere in the kitchen. That is the premise on which this device works.

It is so innocuous that it is virtually invisible – nothing like hiding something in plain sight, after all. If you want to put something which will fit into this can you can do so, whether it is money, keys or other valuables. However, just make sure that the can does not feel too light or too heavy, and does not make a noise when shaken, in case somebody does decide to check on the cans. But of course, the idea is that no one will check on it in the first place because it resembles a real life beans can.

The bottom of the can unscrews to reveal the hidden compartment. Screw it back on and it goes back to being an ordinary can again. Just make sure that no family member thinks of opening it when the person is hungry! Product details

<img src='http://www.spyreview.co.uk/images/review/CHIMP-rearview-mirror.jpg'alt'CHIMP Rearview Mirror for your Computer Monitor" />

You have a rearview mirror when you are in the driver’s seat to see the traffic behind you and what manoeuvres you should take to go forward. That is why it is called a rearview mirror. Now if you are sitting in office the whole day in front of the computer screen, you can attach this CHIMP to it. CHIMP stands for C- chimp; H – Has; I- Invisible; M – Monkey; P – Powers.

It will enable you to see who is trying to sneak up on you, so that you can quickly change the screen, so that it looks like you are actually doing some work, while pretending to look very busy. Perhaps you may have been playing a game or were checking your personal email or just surfing the net – things which you are not supposed to be doing during office hours.

CHIMP consists of a pair of 3” convex mirrors which will give you a good view of the rear. Easily attached to any monitor with velcro, they are particularly useful when you are doing something you shouldn’t be doing with the computer. Just make sure that the alternative screen you go to actually shows some work!

The small nature of the product will make it difficult to detect the mirror from afar so giving enough time to take it off in case someone is approaching.

<img src='http://www.spyreview.co.uk/images/review/Dual-Car-Camera.jpg'alt'Dual Car Camera for Recording Inside and Out" />

If you have to keep tabs on your car’s usage or you run a fleet of cars as a business, then this dual camera – the Dash Cam Dually – which will record inside and outside the car can be of great use. It uses infrared technology to capture whatever happens even when it is dark.

The camera comes with a G-shock sensor which could of immense importance if your vehicle is involved in an accident or an impact. It logs all the details thanks to its inbuilt GPS receiver along with the location, speed and direction of the car so that you know exactly what happened and when.

A 2 GB SD card provides sufficient memory to the camera, comes with a card reader and also makes for easy viewing. You can set the camera for continuous or emergency recording.

(Below is an image showing a shot of the inside and out simultanously)

At $385 the Dash Cam Dually is not cheap, but if you ever need it in an emergency, the price you have paid will be worth it. The camera also looks nice.

This camera is different to vehicle cameras we have covered before which can only record in one direction, do this is definately a bonus.

Of course, this can also be used by individuals for the purpose of security. It can also be used to provide evidence if required in the event there is a crash or an incident that may require an investigation or an insurance claim.

<img src='http://www.spyreview.co.uk/images/review/Fingerprint-Car-Security.jpg'alt'Fingerprint Car Security System" />

Cars being broken into or even stolen is not that uncommon, especially in areas where its more prone to happen such as rough neighbourhoods, but it can happen anywhere. And often there seems to be precious little that you can do about it. This fingerprint car security system makes your car as secure as it possibly can be, with only people whose fingerprints are on the system allowed access to the car.

So you need the fingerprints and the car keys to even start the car – and if a thief gets hold of your car keys the car still won’t start. This makes it doubly secure. If you install a GSM sim card into the unit, it will even send you a text message letting you know if anybody has knocked your car or forcibly tried to enter or break into it.

This fingerprint ID security system has another built in feature – you can send text commands from your mobile phone to able or disable certain features as the needs arises. For instance if the car needs any repair you can disable the fingerprint scanner system, so that he can work on it without need to access the security system at all.

In case of an emergency you can even disable or enable the security system. In case somebody tries to break into the car, it will sound a loud alarm. But of course if somebody is holding a gun to your head, there is precious little you will be able to do!

The product does seem to have some complex functions (in a good way) and very useful features for a very reasonable price of around £135.

One problem with this might be what if the system fails to recognise the driver’s own fingerprint as it sometimes happens with fingerprint authentication?

Also, a determined thief might be able to get round it by breaking the system. But in any case there will be an alarm as well as a text sent to you if there is any forceful contact made on the car.

<img src='http://www.spyreview.co.uk/images/review/Sound-Detecting-Calculator.jpg'alt'Calculator With Hidden Listening and Sound Detection" />

We have seen a calculator hide a covert camera before which has been covered by this site, but this is an even better idea – a calculator that is also a listening in device built around GSM technology.

The calculator picks up sounds with a coverage of around 20 feet radius around where it is positioned. It is a normal functioning calculator so it won’t raise any suspicion as the high sensitive microphone is stacked inside.

It is a clever device that secretly sends an alert via SMS whenever sounds are picked up so you will know when to listen in rather than wait impatiently. It also has a long (30 days) standby time meaning you can leave it for a long time if there is no activity without having to replace batteries.

The reason why I say this is better than the covert calculator camera is because a small hole needs to pip out to record the activity and the recording will be hindered somewhat by where the calculator is placed, these restrictions do not apply here with this one because the calculator hides the microphone inside so there is no visible element that might be a giveaway and also because sound can be picked irrespective of where the calculator is placed.

But the price is quite a bit on the expensive side; at well over £300, there are definitely cheaper options available, but this sound detection calculator does provide an excellent disguise other similar listening devices lack. There may also be cheaper imitations available from an online electronics store in China. If there is, I doubt it will match the quality of this particular one.

<img src='http://www.spyreview.co.uk/images/review/f-secure-home-security.jpg'alt'F-Secure Home Server Security" />

Can we even imagine life without the internet today? Besides shrinking the world it has made everything easier to do, whether it is communications or work or even entertainment and gaming. However, it has also opened new vistas to the technologically savvy criminals in the form of identity theft, phishing, banking theft and stealing work and applications and software and worse.

As such, it is important to keep your pcs absolutely secure against viruses, hackers, data theft and more. The F-Secure is one such product which guards against virus, malware, spyware, secretly installed software on your computer, data theft et al. It offers real time detection and disinfection. Since this product is to be used with Windows Home Server software, obviously you should have that software installed on your home network computers to be able to use this protection.

While most customers find the product not as expensive as others in the market, it does seem to have a few negatives: it slows the system when scanning is in progress and some customers complain that their system hangs, thus causing a lot of problems. As security software it offers good value for money with one year’s license which can then be renewed and the product will update regularly. If you are not sure how your system will work with this, you can install a trial version for free and check it out before shelling out the cash.

But on the whole, it seems most customers are very satisfied with the product as it averages a rating of 4/5 with a substantial number of people casting their votes.

Its available from Amazon

<img src='http://www.spyreview.co.uk/images/review/key-vault-for-vehicle.jpg'alt'Car Key Vault" />

The HitchSafe Key Vault is a great place to keep keys, credit cards or even some extra cash, particularly when you take part in outdoor sports. If you like jogging, hiking, surfing or other water sports, you can use this and know that your valuables are safe.

Now you can leave your vehicle safe and secure as it attaches into the 2″ receiver hitch of most trucks, SUVs, and vans. When you return, you just remove the cover, enter your four digit combination security number and open the little safe to retrieve your valuables.

It looks like a regular hitch cover, designed to fool any lurking car thieves, and it attaches to a solid steel hitch receiver with two interlocking bolts and retaining bars made of hardened steel with a rust-resistant coating. The Hitch Safe installs in less than 3 minutes and requires no tools. It is made of solid metal which is rust proof besides being water tight.

Looking at the customer reviews on the product page on Amazon, it appears most customers are pleased with the product and have given it a positive customer feedback and high rating due to safety and the covert nature of the vault.

However, one of the negative comments has been that the compartment may leak water when it rains so the key might be prone to rust if left in there during the wet season.

This product is available from Amazon.

Okay we know that smoking is not cool and is banned in many places, but die hard smokers still smoke even if they are only at designated places and the number of smokers keeps on increasing. Here is a product which doubles as a cufflink, but in reality works as a lighter.

Let’s not forget, lighters can be used for lighting other things apart from cigarettes: candles, kindling and more.

So how cool would it be if you are wearing a shirt which uses these cufflinks and you remove one and light something? Wouldn’t it be cute? And these cufflinks can also be made into a necklace or a ring!

These are vintage cufflinks with lighter in working order, genuine antique and are adjustable to fit into all sizes of buttonholes.
In the old days valuables were commonly stored under the mattress (or even in a container buried in the earth). The idea was that if you were sleeping on something, nobody could get at it. However, times have changed and now people use safes to keep their valuables, whether money, documents, jewellery or other precious items.

These days beds often come with storage space because otherwise the space under the bed actually is wasted space, particularly in areas where land prices are high, rooms are small and space should not be wasted. However, it tends to be for clothes or somewhere to store away things that are rarely needed.

But now somebody got the bright idea and combined the two to make storage beds with foolproof storage. The storage safe space replaces the box springs and is made of heavy duty materials, fire resistant as well. It comes in different sizes and depths to fit most beds.

Though this safe comes with a sophisticated Mul-T-Lock locking system, you can ask for special interactive locks. The top lifts up through an easy to use hydraulic gas-assist piston, and a strategically mounted maximum security hinge system carefully integrated for maximum strength and safe operation. These BedBunkers are guaranteed for life.

It’s a pretty neat idea as bed bunker is not an area someone would immediately think of as a storage space for valuables, so it can be a good way to fool potential thieves.

On the subject of spy pen, here is another. This time a pen that allows what is written to become invisible with passing time. Traditionally these types of pens have been available as children’s spy gadgets, but this one is for adults or it could be used by anybody for that matter.

During the infamous cold war between the US and the USSR the KGB had developed this disappearing ink pen. Now this pen is available for sale in the US and anybody can buy it off the net. The pen writes like a normal pen, but what is written slowly disappears, leaving a blank sheet of paper.

As the ink which was developed by Soviet scientists is a gel ink, you can write lightly and not leave indentations or marks on the paper. Apparently the ink is undetectable even under UV scanners and the writing cannot be recovered.

Once on paper, the ink appears normal for about 15 minutes. Then it begins to slowly fade away. After about an hour, it will have mostly disappeared, but will still be slightly visible. After about 24 to 48 hours it will have completely vanished! Even an inspection under ultraviolet light will come up with nothing. (Fade time and characteristics may vary depending on ambient environmental conditions.)

What can this be used for? You can use this to pass on messages which are going to be seen quickly. Apart from that probably all uses would be illegal – if you were sign dud cheques, legal documents, letters, pre-nuptial agreements, business agreements and the like, you could get into legal trouble and even be prosecuted for fraud. The KGB disappearing ink pen is available also from ThinkGeek.
