The BedBunker Safe

In the old days valuables were commonly stored under the mattress (or even in a container buried in the earth). The idea was that if you were sleeping on something, nobody could get at it. However, times have changed and now people use safes to keep their valuables, whether money, documents, jewellery or other precious items.

These days beds often come with storage space because otherwise the space under the bed actually is wasted space, particularly in areas where land prices are high, rooms are small and space should not be wasted. However, it tends to be for clothes or somewhere to store away things that are rarely needed.

Perimeter Monitoring System

If you live in a house whether it is in an isolated area or not, the security aspect is of vital importance whether you live alone or with your family. Even in so-called safe neighbourhoods it is always better to have a good security system in place. A house with land around it is all the more vulnerable.

This perimeter protection system has eight monitoring sensors which are controlled by a single base station. Each sensor can monitor up to 35 meters in a straight line at a designated height. It works on infra red technology and can work for six months on 1 x PP3 (9V) battery.

Quick-Fit Burglar Alarm

Maplin has a quick fit burglar alarm which is battery operated and requires no wiring. It just takes a few minutes to install.

However, by simply installing a high-end security alarm or camera, we can into a false sense of security and overlook more simple areas that can can upgrade security of a home.

There is a UK government website on home security which is very comprehensive that goes into ways you can fully secure a home, or at least give yourself every chance to preven a burglary or the like. We will touch on some of those points here.
