<img src='http://www.spyreview.co.uk/images/review/iPhone-Spy-Stick-Data-Recovery.jpg'Alt'iPhone Spy Stick"/>

The iPhone Spy Stick is the perfect device for recovering deleted and erased data from any iPhone. The iPhone Spy Stick can be used for any reason you might have to recover deleted data from an iPhone, including accidentally erased data, spying on your mate’s, coworkers or enemies and professional data recovery services.

This product is okay for recovering data, but almost useless if the device you want to recover deleted data from has a pin code on it because it will not work on those unless you unlock them first, so that is a potential problem for accessing the information on an iPhone. Of course if you are using to recover lost data, this may not be an issue. It could be a great tool for data recovery experts!

What you do with this tool is your own business, it could be used easily to spy on other people’s personal information, but only if their phone isn’t password protected. There is a way for you to get into an iPhone without the pin code, but it involves using the iPhone recovery process or an iTunes application that recovers them, but we are not sure if this device will recover data after you have reset an iPhone to factory settings. That would be a good thing for someone to try though, it may even work, who knows.

This device can be a valuable tool for those in the data recovery business and those in the Spying business, private eye or detective industry. It is great for finding old websites that the iPhone has erased, recovering deleted contacts and even getting the iPhone user’s past appointments if they used the appointment setting application. It could help a married person uncover a cheating mate or a business man get the contacts from a past worker’s company phone. Therefore companies that give their employees iPhones should probably have one of these devices to recover information from the phone after the employee returns it when they quit or are fired.

Another from SpyequipmentUK. It is a wrist a watch; it is a camera; it is a mobile phone; it is also a video and music player. It has a touch screen and is Bluetooth compatible as well. It also has a hands free kit and on board speakers.

The GSM watch is not only a new gadget but also a covert gizmo. The camera can take still photos or video and as it is Bluetooth compatible, you can use that to make and receive calls. All the data can be transferred to a computer via a data cable which comes with the kit.

The watch comes with 128 MB of flash memory and has multiple tone settings. It is light in weight despite all the features that it has, weighing only 55 gm. This multiple use device is a handy gadget to have because it has many ‘normal’ functions as well as function as a covert spy gadget.

A lot of watches designed to be spy gadgets are not very fasionable looking and some may not want to be seen wearing them, but this one definately looks pretty good.

<img src='http://www.spyreview.co.uk/images/review/apple-iphone_400x400.jpg'alt"Mobile Spy for Apple iPhone/>

Retina-X Studios, a company that specialises in covert surveillance monitoring software, has come up with a product for the Apple iPhone. The software is much like their software for PC – which allows monitoring of computer activity with total discretion – and is able to log calls, SMS and other usage on an iPhone.

The software runs in the background of the iPhone while allowing you to monitor a person’s use by logging into a specially designated user account over the Internet. A similar type of software is also available for use with other mobile phones and smartphones, but the iPhone version is a new release.

Here is how it works. You purchase the Mobile Spy from Retina and are given instructions on how to download the software on to the iphone. You will then need to set the required level of surveillance that you wish to carry and give the phone to the target person you wish to monitor. Finally, you can log into your account on any computer with an Internet connection to view what has been logged on the iphone. Details will be logged even if data is cleared by user after making a call or SMS or some other activity on the phone.

The user will have no idea the iPhone Mobile Spy is running on their phones because it done totally discreetly hence the name Mobilespy.

Retina suspects this could be popular with parents who might wish to track their children’s activities by keeping tabs on their iPhones. Also, since the iPhone is now a widely used device in organsations, a firm can monitor their usage by employees to find whether user-privelages are being abused or being strictly adhered to.

Like all personal surveillance, there may be some legal issues, so it is important you may wish to take that into consideration before using the Mobile Spy.

Of course, this is not completely new as spy phones have now been available for some time. For those of who might be interested in simply adding the spy technology to your existing phones might be interested in this mobile spy software.

So, the next time a parent is eager to give you an iPhone as a present, be careful as there maybe sinister reasons behind such godwill.

You can view a demo of the Mobile Spy for the iPhone in action here by creating a quick user account.

<img src='http://www.spyreview.co.uk/images/review/encrypted-phone.jpg'alt"Securephone Encrypted Phone/>

Do you work in an environment where your phone conversations require high level of secrecy that you do not want to entertain the possibility of being intercepted by anyone? This phone, styled like a mobile phone and PDA combined, provides the ability to talk wthout this risk. These types of phones are actually used by the military and not previously available to the general public.

It works by encrypting the voice messages so as to make it unreadable and hence unable to be intercepted. It uses AES, Twofish and Serpent ciphers for security and encryption, which are regarded as impenetrable.

This device might be useful for anyone that is required to talk with another individual where they cannot afford to risk messages being intercepted by a third party. For example, distant business partners talking about ideas, patents, etc, may not want information being intercepted. It is also very useful for the military, or people that may be involved in the legal domain talking about highly confidential cases, etc.

The phone itself is like an up to date mobile phone and communication device that includes an Windows operating system.

The downside is that it requires two handsets as it requires both parties to have a handest each if you would like the conversations to be of the encrypted nature. The phone can work on a standard mobile network.

With a price tag of over £1000 for a single handset, you better have something really important to hide.

This is mobile (cell phone) that appears to be like any ordinary phone from the outside but is in fact also a .22 calibre gun. Its a properly working phone that can be used to make and receive calls and not one of those gimmicky phones merely designed to hide its main purpose – the gun. I would assume that in this case the main purpose is probably the phone, or both in equal measure.

Inside the phone there are 4 barrels and pins with bullets. The gun is able to fire these shots in quick succession as the video below demonstrates. The keypad on the phone works as trigger for firing. I must say it was quite discomforting watching that even if it was only a demonstration.

Demonstration of the Gun Being Used

I would assume a product like this would be banned in the UK and much of Europe, however, it may be available to be bought in the US and other countries freely where gun ownership is much more readily accessible, although I am not totally sure.

My worry is that if a product like this openly available, it would appeal to teenagers which could have really dangerous repercussions.

With enough gun problems as it is, especially with teenagers, I, for one, am not too keen on guns camouflaged as mobile and other fancy gadgets. To me, this is glamourising something we really need control of, especially in light of the spate of shootings in colleges and shopping centres across America recently that have been headlining the news. Its reassuring to know that a gadget like this is banned in most places though.

The MP3 Telephone Recorder (Logitec site is in Japanese, translate using Babelfish) can record up to 50 hours of conversation on the internal 128MB flash memory. The recording device fits between the handset and the actual telephone, and you can set up manual or automatic voice-activated recording.

The device uses a non-standard audio format to prevent the conversations being played back by any unauthorised individual. Once connected to a PC using the USB socket, you use a password to access the memory device. The software on the PC then converts the non-standard format into MP3 using the password to decrypt the audio stream. For extra security, you can use a high security cable and lock to ensure the mp3 recorder cannot be removed.

The telephone recorder can use a variety of encoding quality settings, giving up to 56 hours at 5.2kbps, or 9 hours at 32Kbps. The lowest setting is probably close to being unusable, but you can use external SD cards to give you longer recording times. SD memory cards up to 2GB are supported. Even if the SD card is removed and accessed, a password is needed to decrypt the audio stream into a usable MP3 format.

It’s quite clear that the recorder is not usable as a covert phone recording device, because it needs to fit between the handset and the phone itself. This would make it very obvious that telephone conversations were being recorded. The technology could easily be exploited to connect to the phone line directly, and then using digital storage to record any conversations made using the device.

However, the LIC-TRA056SD only appears to be available in Japan, and I can’t seem them producing an audio surveillance variation. Given how many people use mobile phones these days, any such device would be limited in usefulness anyway. The LIC-TRA056SD telephone recorder is most definitely targeted at individuals recording conversations for business needs and personal reference, not spying!

New laws are shortly coming into force that require telephone companies, for both land lines and mobile telephones, must log information about calls and text messages made in the UK for a year. The stored data about calls made and received will be available to 652 public bodies, including the police and councils. However, access to the information will need to be approved by a senior police officer beforehand.

The new law brings the UK into line with the rest of the EU regarding data retention laws for telephones. The data stored falls into three levels.

The phone’s owner

The calls made by the phone

The calls received by the phone and information on where the call was made.

There are concerns that the information would be used to build up a profile of relationships that we have, or misused by government bodies for applications other than tackling crime. I do think that there is far too much information held about us, and far too few controls to ensure its not misused. Just think of the massive issues we have surrounding identity theft at the moment!

StealthText provide a service that allows you to send a text message that can only be read once. The message ‘self-destructs’ and cannot be read again!

The technique works by sending the recipient a link that allows them to download the message over WAP. Once the message has been viewed, if the user follows the link again, they will get an ‘expired or non-existent page’ message. So strictly speaking, this is not a self-destructing text message. This is a message that contains a webpage link to a message that can only be read once.

It’s a nice concept, but at a cost of £5 for 12 messages, and the fact it requires the recipient to receive the message over WAP, it adds a lot of hassle to a very basic idea.

A better solution is encrypting the message and then sending the message to your intended recipient. Kryptext provides low-cost software solution that will encrypt a message before it is stored on the phone, and sends the encrypted message to your recipient. The recipient needs the software to decrypt the message however.

Given that the encryption software runs on the phone, there’s no change of phone usage, so no need to use WAP or the internet, etc. It uses simple SMS to send the message itself, and the software is only around £8 per phone. This is a one-off cost, regardless of how many times you send a message. The software works on a number of modern phones, including the following:

Nokia 3600, Nokia 3620, Nokia 3650. Nokia 3660, Nokia 6600, Nokia 6620, Nokia 7610, Nokia 7650, Samsung SGH-D700, Siemens SX1, Panasonic X700, Sendo X, Sony Ericsson P800/P802, Sony Ericsson P900/P908, BenQ P30

So self-destructing messages, or encrypted messages? I think the latter is best in this case.

This is a fun gadget, which hides a stun gun in this rather fake-looking Nokia-shaped mobile phone. The phone does not work as a normal phone at all, but looks similar enough that no-one should give it a second glance. It packs a powerful 800,000 Volt electric shock, which should knock any attacker off their feet.

Rather interestingly, the device is powered from just 2 lithium 3V cells, which is a surprisingly small battery pack. The basic circuit for a stun gun involves a capacitor (to store the charge for a single jolt), a voltage step-up circuit (to convert the 6V to 800,000V), a couple of switches, plus a few other bits. So the device is easily concealed within the mobile phone casing.

Stun guns are restricted in a large number of countries, and the website gives a fairly long list of them. What I find really shocking (sorry! had to say it) is the price… only $40 for their cheapest model! I am rather relieved that these devices are restricted, as I’d hate to get a surprise jolt from this.

When I’ve talked about spy phones in the past, I’ve referred to phones that you can use to listen to conversations. This variation of spy phone actually has a covertly hidden spy camera within a Nokia mobile phone.

The phone is actually disabled, to make way for the electronics for the spy camera. The spy camera is completely wireless and can transmit on 2.4GHz or 1.2GHz with a range of around 20 to 50 metres. It’s rare to find a wireless spy camera with a microphone, but these spy cameras feature a microphone wired to the base of the phone in the charger socket. However, I guess that you cannot charge the phone battery with a normal phone charger due to the microphone being in the charger socket though.

The neat feature of this spy gadget is that the spy camera is powered by a standard Nokia phone battery, which helps the illusion that the phone is a normal non-working mobile phone. With a working life of 6 hours, it beats most wireless cameras which typically have a life of a couple of hours from a fresh 9V PP3 battery.

It would be nice to see a variation of these phones that can be used as a normal phone, as well as featuring a spy camera too! Sadly, I don’t think its possible due to the lack of space inside a mobile phone chassis.
