Many criminals have various tattoos and they keep one step ahead of the law by changing their tattoos, particularly if they have them at very visible places which can be used for identification purposes. Sometimes tattoos are reworked, sometimes they are ‘removed’ in a bid to make identification difficult.
But now scientists and researchers at the University of Derby have figured out ways of using digital cameras with infra-red sensitivity which will enable them to know whether the tattoo is original or has been reworked or erased.

Everybody has seen parachutes, if not in real life then in movies or television. Those huge white billowing umbrella like contraptions with harnesses which save peoples’ lives while they are bailing out from a plane or copter, usually made of a silky fabric.
But now it seems like a new device is being designed – the Gryphon Next Generation Parachute System. This is suit which the person has to wear will have six feet wings and will allow him to glide up to 30 miles away and that also without radar detection.

Gary McKinnon, the internet hacker who has been accused of breaking into US high security computers, faces a trial in the US. The appeal against his extradition from London to US has been denied by the Home Office.
McKinnon, who suffers from Asperger’s Syndrome, faces up to 60 years in jail if he is convicted. He has already confessed that he had hacked into 97 US government computers in NASA and Pentagon in 2001-2002, seeking information on UFOs which were run on clean fuel.

Finally it is online and working – the national identity card data base went live on October 20th and already has 538 people on in by November 19th. It is first opening to the general public in Greater Manchester and people residing there can apply from November 30th. The next phase will be in the north-west of England, probably Liverpool from early next year.
